For them belly dancing is just about hip drops and shimmies. That's all they know.. Everything but raqs sharqi.. the instructor should train herself on more techniques first. However people still learn from her because they lack knowledge. Before learning any dance form, people should read about the itnin detail. Belly dance is supposed to be feminine, graceful and subtle. The arms while dancing should look smooth and fluidy. What they teach is not even close to belly dance. It's some kind of fusion that they have created on their own. It's funny how people blindly follow what is taught to them.
