Smt. Meenakshi Sagar, disciple of ‘Natya Poorna' Guru Sri. J. Suryanarayana Moorthy, had her initial training in Chennai under 'Sudarkodi' Smt. Padma and later under Kum. R.Padma. A versatile Bharathanatyam artiste, she has given numerous performances in India and abroad. Her dance is marked by extreme grace and her expressions keep the audience spellbound. She has performed at various sabhas, art festivals, temples and government sponsored programmes. “Bharatha Kalai Selvi", Nithya Baratha Jothi" Smt. Meenakshi Sagar founded Aradhana in 1990 at the Russian Culturala Centre, Chennai to train Russian and Indian students. A teacher with outstanding ability, Meenakshi has choreographed various classical dances and dance dramas in a novel way. She is the Technical member of the Department of Education – Union Territory of Lakshadweep, for Classical Dance. Meenakshi teaches dance at Podanur and Kalappatti to many enthusiastic disciples. She also imparts training in music and Nattuvangam.
